Description: |
The MAJ (Madison-Janesville wayfreight) skirts along the southern shore of Lake Monona as it accelerates out of town. The hideous, but matching-colored building in the background is the Colliseum at the Alliant Energy Center (formerly the Dane Co. Colliseum). I've been trying to sandwich a train into a shot with the Colliseum in the background for some time now, and this is the best I could do. I wouldn't mind having this as the view from my back yard for obvious reasons... |

This little train is sitting out at MX behind a parked UP rock train (which is waiting for a passenger special to get further down the line). On what might ordinarily be a dead day for railfanning, MX is a parking lot for trains! |

The train pauses alongside Vita Plus, one of two customers that is currently receiving cars on this line. Madison recycling used to get WSOR blue boxcars regularly, but it's been a while since I've seen crews spot a car there. |
